'American Hustle' & 'Dallas Buyers Club' Win Big At SAG Awards

Dallas Buyers Club

Hollywood is certainly keeping us on our toes. In the span of a few days, we’ve seen the Oscar nominations, the kickoff of Sundance, the Critics Choice Awards, and last night, the Screen Actors Guild Awards. And as the winners often presage future Oscar winners, it’s one that prognosticators were watching closely.

So, who should we be paying attention to across the next few weeks? Well, with Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto continuing their awards season momentum by picking up two more awards here, they are clearly the ones to look out for, while Cate Blanchett‘s win pretty much confirms what folks have been saying all season long: the Oscar is hers. Meanwhile, the Best Ensemble winner can sometimes be a precursor to the Best Picture winner, and “American Hustle” is holding on to its frontrunner status.

Over on the TV side, winners like Bryan Cranston, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Ty Burrell were no big shock, though it seems voters just went for a big name by awarding Helen Mirren a statue for “Phil Spector,” the HBO biopic everyone sort of forgot happened.

Anyhow, check out the full list of winners below. [The Wrap]
