Anna Kendrick Stars In 'Four Lions' Director Chris Morris' New Movie

It’s hard to believe nearly eight years have passed since Chris Morris dropped his debut film, “Four Lions.” The searing comedy earned an armload of awards and nominations, and while he seemed poised for big things, we didn’t hear anything from Morris. While he dipped into American television with four episodes of “Veep,” it didn’t seem like the filmmaker had anything on the boil. We were wrong.

Chortle reveals that Morris has gone off and secretly shot a new film. The untitled picture stars Anna Kendrick, Kayvan Novak, James Adomian, Danielle Brooks, Denis O’Hare, Pej Vahdat, Marchant Davis and Mousa Kraish, and production has already wrapped, with filming taking place in the U.S., Santo Domingo, and at Pinewood Studios facilities in the Dominican Republic.

Of course, as for the title and plot, all that, just like everything else surrounding the project, is being kept hushed up. However, we’re pretty thrilled to finally have a new project from Morris’ fertile, comedic brain, and a substantial role for Kendrick, who has been drifting in some underwhelming vehicles for the past while. Hopefully, this project puts her multiple talents to use.

For now, we’ll just have to decipher what we can from this set photo and keep our fingers crossed for more news soon. Perhaps a Cannes premiere could be in the offing?
