Anne Hathaway Joins Jared Leto In Apple TV+ Series 'WeCrashed'

With Jared Leto in the news this week because of his new film, “The Little Things,” arriving on HBO Max this weekend, it’s only fitting that we get to talk about one of his high-profile projects going into production soon, “WeCrashed,” which has added yet another A-lister to its ranks with Anne Hathaway.

According to Variety, Anne Hathaway has joined the cast of “WeCrashed,” an Apple TV+ limited series that stars Leto as Adam Neumann, the co-founder of WeWork, the shared-space worker start-up that became the source of controversy due to the founder’s erratic management style. The company went from being worth nearly $50 billion to almost losing everything. The series is co-written and produced by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello, with Eisenberg serving as the series’ showrunner. The series will be directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra.

Hathaway is coming off the debut of her streaming film, “The Witches,” which arrived on HBO Max last Halloween. Her most recent feature is “Locked Down,” which she filmed during the pandemic and was also released on HBO Max recently. And if you’re wondering if Hathaway has ever had a primary role on a TV series before, while she has shown up on episodes of series here and there over the past two decades, her last full-time TV role was on the short-lived Fox sitcom, “Get Real,” which ended its run way back in 2000.

Obviously, with “WeCrashed,” Apple TV+ is continuing its tradition of bringing in massive stars to appear in its original programming. While the streaming platform is consistently garnering headlines with its flashy casting announcements, it has yet to really achieve the subscriber numbers of other streamers such as Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, and others.

It’s unclear when “WeCrashed” will arrive on Apple TV+, but this is definitely a series to keep an eye out for.
