Edgar Wright Announces 'Baby Driver Volume 2' Soundtrack Featuring The Complete Score

Baby Driver is a film built on a foundation of music. Everything, including editing, acting, directing, and production design, was built around a really great selection of songs by writer/director Edgar Wright. Unfortunately, when the original soundtrack for the film was released, with 30 songs, there were still some leftovers that didn’t make the cut, as we pointed out last summer. According to Edgar Wright, all will be rectified on “Baby Driver Volume 2: The Score for a Score.”

Announced via Twitter, Wright was happy to give fans what they wanted – more “Baby Driver” music! ‘The Score for a Score’ will feature unreleased songs from the film, as well as remixes, exclusive tracks, dialogue excerpts, and the never-before-released score, composed by Steven Price.

As fans of the film already know, the music used in “Baby Driver” covers the gamut of popular music. Pop, rock, jazz, and R&B all make an appearance in the film. Unlike other films (looking at you, “Guardians of the Galaxy”), the music from “Baby Driver” isn’t limited to any specific era. It’s the perfect soundtrack to listen to when you want a truly diverse mix of music. Now, with ‘Volume 2,’ you can keep the music playing, with plenty of unreleased goodies, including the often-overlooked score.

While Wright doesn’t go into too much detail about what we can expect, he did drop another nugget of info on Twitter. “Featuring an as yet unreleased [Kid Koala] song too. Another of Baby’s mixes,” said the director. As we all know, the titular Baby was notorious for making his own mixes from everyday conversations.

The best part of the announcement is that fans won’t even have to wait long for the new album. 30th Century Records is releasing “Baby Driver Volume 2: The Score for a Score” on April 13. So, it’s less than a month away before your collection of “Baby Driver” tunes can be complete.
