Controlled Explosion Packs Too Much Of A Punch On 'Bond 25' Set, Injuring One Person & Proving The Film Is Cursed

It was just over a week ago, when I wrote about how Daniel Craig was undergoing surgery and would miss a couple of weeks of production on “Bond 25.” And at the end of the report, I (jokingly) said that fans of the franchise should their fingers crossed that no other setbacks and/or injuries would be sustained. People, you failed me.

According to a new tweet from the official James Bond franchise Twitter account, it has been revealed that during a “controlled explosion,” parts of the stage were damaged and someone suffered “minor injuries.”

“During the filming of a controlled explosion on the set of Bond 25 today at Pinewood Studios, damage was caused to the exterior of the 007 Stage. There were no injuries on set, however one crew member outside the stage has sustained a minor injury,” the tweet reads.

As mentioned, the jokes about this film being cursed have been floating around for months. This comes after the film suffered delays because the producers couldn’t keep a filmmaker attached to the project. Then, casting rumors showed that actors were going to star but had to pull out. We also heard rumors that the whole production is in trouble, with the script in shambles. Then came the recent injury to Daniel Craig, which required surgery. And now, a freaking explosion caused too much damage and injured someone.

Look, I’m not very superstitious (maybe just a little stitious), but at some point, we have to look out for the health and well-being of the men and women involved in the production of “Bond 25.” Clearly, the movie gods have made their wishes known. Whatever director Cary Fukunaga and his cast/crew are cooking up with this latest superspy adventure is quite obviously upsetting some higher power, right?

“Bond 25” is set to star Craig as the titular hero, in the actor’s apparent swansong, along with Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, and Rami Malek.

That is, barring some sort of natural disaster, alien invasion, zombie uprising, or the arrival of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. If those can be avoided, we should expect to see “Bond 25” arrive in theaters on April 8, 2020.

(By the way, for those that take things a bit too literally, this talk about it being cursed is just me being silly. But the explosion really did happen.)
