'The Crown' Season 4 Trailer: The Netflix Drama Hosts A Fairy Tale Wedding In Olivia Colman's Final Episodes

If you had any doubt about what Season 4 of “The Crown” focused on, then the new teaser has you covered as the show is clearly focusing on the growing relationship between Prince Charles and the young Lady Diana Spencer. Of course, as we know, the modern story of the Royal Family is dominated by the future Princess as the ‘80s turn into the ‘90s and Queen Elizabeth ages even more.

The teaser makes the wedding between Diana and Charles the centerpiece of the action, as we hear narration about fairy tales and happily ever after. Obviously, if you know what’s to come, the fairy tale wedding, though glamorous, doesn’t actually lead to a happily ever after ending. But that’s likely a story for another time, namely Seasons 5 and 6, which are yet to come.

Season 4 isn’t just the Diana Show, however. The newest batch of episodes also marks the end of the run for ‘Crown’ star Olivia Colman, who hands the baton off after this season, as the show continues its actor refresh every two seasons. But we definitely shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves, as we still have 10 more episodes of Colman goodness to look forward to.

Here’s the synopsis for Season 4 of “The Crown”:

As the 1970s are drawing to a close, Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), who is still unmarried at 30. While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin) provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, as the transformation from teenager to Princess of Wales takes place, it is anything but a fairytale for Diana.
