'Devotion' Trailer: Jonathan Majors Is A Navy Pilot During The Korean War In J.D. Dillard's New Drama

The next year is expected to be massive for Jonathan Majors. Not only is he the co-lead in the upcoming drama, “Creed III,” but he also happens to be the villain of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” as well as the overall next Marvel big bad. But before we get those films, Majors is set to debut a new film with far fewer multiversal/time-travel shenanigans. He’s set to star in the period war film, “Devotion.”

As seen in the trailer for “Devotion,” Jonathan Majors stars as a Navy pilot during the Korean War. Obviously, when you look at that era, the United States and its people weren’t the best when it came to race relations, so there were a lot of hurdles a Black pilot has to face in society, not just from the fact that he must engage in life-or-death battles during war.

Joining Majors in the cast are Glen Powell, Christina Jackson, Thomas Sadoski, and Joe Jonas. This marks the second film of 2022 that features Powell in an aircraft, as he also starred in “Top Gun: Maverick.” “Devotion” is directed by J.D. Dillard, who is probably best known for his 2016 film, “Sleight.” He also directed 2019’s “Sweetheart,” as well as episodes of TV series such as “The Twilight Zone,” “The Outsider,” and “Utopia.”

“Devotion” will arrive in theaters on November 23, just in time for the long Thanksgiving holiday. You can watch the new trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Devotion, an aerial war epic based on the bestselling book of the same name, tells the harrowing true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots during the Korean War. Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.
