Duffer Brothers Currently Planning 4 Or 5 Season Run For 'Stranger Things'

All good things must come to an end, which means one day, the final episode of “Stranger Things” will air. And it seems a bit silly to think about that now when we’re still months away from the start of season two, with so much more story yet to unfold, but “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer promise that the supernatural happenings will have a definitive end.

“Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see,” Ross Duffer told EW.

“I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top,” Matt Ross added.

There is certainly nothing worse than your favorite show not knowing when to say quit, and in recent years, premium networks have especially seen the value in letting creatives determine when it’s time to close off a show and move on (see HBO and “Game Of Thrones“). But the Duffers also realize that anything can happen, and certainly Netflix will be in no great rush to send off “Stranger Things,” but we do live in a time where spinoffs and more are possible and put under consideration (again, see HBO and “Game Of Thrones” or AMC with “Better Call Saul“).

As for the second season, the Duffers promise a contained story, but of course, one that will pave the way for more seasons.

“Stranger Things” returns on Halloween.
