Last year, August gave audiences an Oscar contender with “Hell Or High Water,” which offered desert dry crime drama at the tail end of the blockbuster season. Now, that film’s screenwriter Taylor Sheridan is behind the camera as director with “Wind River,” and once again, August will provide the stage for another one of his captivating tales. Also returning are Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, who tune up this wintry tale.
Starring Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Gil Birmingham, Jon Bernthal, Julia Jones, Kelsey Asbille, and James Jordan, the film follows a rookie FBI agent who teams up with a local game tracker with deep community ties and a haunted past to investigate the murder of a local girl on a remote Native American Reservation in the hopes of solving her mysterious death. As per usual, Cave and Ellis are doing top notch work here, with this exclusive soundtrack preview providing a great window into their score for the movie.
“Wind River” opens on August 4th, and the soundtrack album will be available the same day via Lakeshore Records.
