There’s awkwardness, curiosity, and just a hint of heartbreak in “F*ck That Guy,” a 17-minute short from writer-director Hanna Gray Organschi that captures the electric confusion of growing up—and the fine line between friendship and desire. Executive produced by Spike Lee and Riva Marker, the film stars Carys Douglas as a teenager determined to lose her virginity before leaving for college, under the guidance of her older best friend, played by Victoria Pedretti.
Set in 1992 Connecticut, “F*ck That Guy” follows Frankie as she tests the limits of youth, intimacy, and self-definition with humor, longing, and just enough chaos to sting. Organschi’s direction finds an emotional rawness in the small moments—matching the warmth of early-autumn New England textures with a quiet ache that lingers beneath the film’s playful surface.
The short premiered at the Bentonville Film Festival before playing at Champs-Élysées, Provincetown, and Athens, earning honors including the Silver Grand Jury Award at the PROOF Film Festival and Best Live-Action Narrative Short at the deadCenter Film Festival. The film also stars Micheál Neeson, Dagmara Dominczyk, and Sydney Lemmon.
With Organschi expanding her voice into features and Pedretti continuing a bold post-Netflix career path, “F*ck That Guy” arrives as a small but striking showcase for the next wave of female-driven storytelling—funny, tender, and honest enough to hurt a little.
