Brett Goldstein already has two big TV series in “Ted Lasso” and “Shrinking,” both on Apple TV+; will “Escorted,” his newly announced series at Prime Video, be another?
Deadline reports that the actor will star in the upcoming comedy series, and its one with a wild premise. As per a logline, Goldstein will play “a divorced dad in Manhattan accidentally becomes a male escort in the romantic comedy about second chances, the mayhem of co-parenting, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.”
Goldstein also writes and executive produces the series, with Prime Video shooting it in the classic sitcom format: one camera, half-hour episodes, for a total of eight episodes. It’s a part of Goldstein’s overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, with Amazon MGM Studios co-producing. Goldstein also serves as co-showrunner on “Escorted” with “Shrinking” exec producer Brian Gallivan. Other exec producers involved include Cooper Wehde, Josh Senior, and Molly Mandel.
Will “Escorted” be another breakout role for Goldstein? “Ted Lasso” provided his first in football player-turned-coach Roy Kent; the role earned him an Emmy, and help launch the actor’s career into films like “All Of You” and the upcoming “Office Romance,” another project he co-writes. Goldstein also recently had his first stand-up special, “Brett Goldstein: The Second Best Night Of Your Life,” premiere on HBO Max earlier this year. Oh yeah, and then there’s “Shrinking,” a show that’s become on of Apple TV+’s most acclaimed over two seasons, with Season 3 premiering on the streamer on January 28, 2026.
Meanwhile, Gallivan also has a recurring role on “Shrinking,” and co-stars with Goldstein in “Office Romance.” Other recent credits for the multi-hyphenate include creating the ABC comedy series “The McCarthys.”
Stay tuned for more details on “Escorted” as they arrive. Bear in mind, “Shrinking” S3, “Office Romance,” and the upcoming “Ted Lasso” S4 all come first for Goldstein.
