Gael Garcia Bernal Is Hunted At The U.S./Mexico Border In New Trailer For 'Desierto'

You can’t really talk about the U.S./Mexico border these days, without bringing up Donald Trump, who continues to hold fast to his plan to build a wall right across it should he become president. Considering his ten year-old son is better at cyber than he is, we should all be worried if that happens, but until we find out in November who will be the next leader of the free world, Jonas Cuaron has directed “Desierto,” a movie that takes audiences right to the line between the U.S. and Mexico for a white-knuckle thriller.

Gael Garcia Bernal and Jeffrey Dean Morgan square off in the flick about a vigilante who takes deadly aim at a Mexican man trying to illegally cross the border. It plays like a nightmare of Trump policies come to life. Here’s the official synopsis:

What begins as a hopeful journey to seek a better life becomes a harrowing and primal fight for survival when a deranged, rifle-toting vigilante chases a group of unarmed men and women through the treacherous U.S.-Mexican border. In the harsh, unforgiving desert terrain, the odds are stacked firmly against them as they continuously discover there’s nowhere to hide from the unrelenting, merciless killer.

“Desierto” opens on October 14th.
