‘House Of Cards’ Season 6 Starts Filming With Diane Lane & Greg Kinnear

It might be costing Netflix a small fortune, but after dealing with Kevin Spacey, putting production on hiatus, and reconfiguring the show, “House Of Cards” sixth and final season is now rolling. And a couple of new players are getting involved.

Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear have joined the cast of Netflix’s political drama, which includes Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver for the upcoming sixth and final season. There’s no word yet on what roles Lane and Kinnear will play in the eight-episode season, but I’ll toss out a wild guess and say that they’ll be previously unknown siblings or relatives to the late Frank Underwood (who I’m also guessing will be killed off screen).

The series has certainly taken more than its fair share of wild twists and turns over the past five seasons, but the sixth and final one may provide the most outlandish yet. The biggest question will be how they handle Frank Underwood’s storyline. He was left waiting to be pardoned by Claire Underwood, along with Doug, but she seemed to be in no rush to exonerate them. It’s safe to say that”House Of Cards” season six might be its most compelling yet.

No word yet on when it will debut, but I’d guess we’ll see the final episodes before the year is out.
