'The Hummingbird Project' Exclusive Clip: Alexander Skarsgård Dances Through The Hallways Because Of One Millisecond

A little over a month ago, the first trailer for “The Hummingbird Project” was released. The footage shown gave viewers a clear indication that this film is going to be one of the more entertaining projects hitting the first part of 2019. But for my money, the standout moment of the trailer is the scene where star Alexander Skarsgård does the best dance committed to film since perhaps John Travolta in “Pulp Fiction.”

And in honor of the film’s impending release next week, we are thrilled to exclusively present the entire dance sequence, capped off with an equally impressive chase sequence through a hotel hallway and ending at a tennis court. And to think, all this excitement is caused by one millisecond.

For those not familiar with the film, “The Hummingbird Project” tells the true story of Vincent and Anton (Jesse Eisenberg and Skarsgård, respectively) as cousins from New York that become major figures in the world of High-Frequency Trading, where every millisecond counts. Standing in their way are none other than Salma Hayek, as one ruthless businesswoman, and, as seen in the clip, the US government.

Written and directed by Kim Nguyen, “The Hummingbird Project” might not have superheroes fighting over glowing rocks, but from everything we’ve seen so far, the film feels like it could be the breakout film of the spring.

“The Hummingbird Project” hits theaters on March 15.

Here’s the synopsis:

In this modern epic, Kim Nguyen exposes the ruthless edge of our increasingly digital world. Cousins from New York, Vincent (Jesse Eisenberg) and Anton (Alexander Skarsgård) are players in the high-stakes game of High-Frequency Trading, where winning is measured in milliseconds. Their dream? To build a straight fiber-optic cable line between Kansas and New Jersey, making them millions. But nothing is straightforward for this flawed pair. Anton is the brains, Vincent is the hustler, and together they push each other and everyone around them to the breaking point with their quixotic adventure. Constantly breathing down their necks is their old boss Eva Torres (Salma Hayek), a powerful, intoxicating and manipulative trader who will stop at nothing to come between them and beat them at their own game.
