'Justified: City Primeval' Trailer: Timothy Olyphant & Boyd Holbrook Star In FX's Crime Drama Revival

It’s been nearly a decade since “Justified” ended its run back in 2015, after six seasons. Over that time, the series still remains one of the most popular in the history of FX. So, as you can guess, the network has been keen to bring back the franchise with a new revival, which is titled “Justified: City Primeval.”

As seen in the trailer for the show, ‘City Primeval’ sees the return of Timothy Olyphant as U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens, who is now happily living in Miami where he can keep doing his work while also being a father to his teenage daughter. However, the series picks up with Givens being summoned to Detroit where he is now on the hunt for an infamous killer, The Oklahoma Wildman.

Joining Olyphant in the cast are Aunjanue Ellis and Boyd Holbrook. ‘City Primeval’ is produced and showrun by Dave Andron and Michael Dinner

“Justified: City Primeval” debuts on FX on July 18. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Having left the hollers of Kentucky 15 years ago, Raylan Givens now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 15-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well. These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.
