Kevin Feige Teases Scarlet Witch's Possible MCU Return: "Anything's Possible In The Multiverse!"

Fans were first introduced to Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” However, it wasn’t until years later that Elizabeth Olsen’s Marvel Cinematic Universe character would really come into her own, climaxing in the one-two punch of “WandaVision” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” But just because it would appear that her story has come to a dramatic end in ‘Multiverse of Madness,’ that doesn’t mean we’re done seeing Scarlet Witch in the MCU.

For those who haven’t seen “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” then beware of spoilers…

Basically, the end of the film saw Scarlet Witch regain a bit of her humanity, saving the day by imploding a defacto temple onto herself. This final heroic act seemingly killed her. However, we’re talking about a superpowered witch in a universe with a talking tree, a man who wears the American flag as a costume, and people who dress up in metal suits to fight bad guys. Needless to say, having Scarlet Witch survive being squished isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Speaking to Variety, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige teased a possible return for Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch after what appeared to be her death in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” That said, a tease by Kevin Feige is still just a tease.

“I don’t know that we saw her under rubble?” said Feige “I saw a tower coming down and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means.”

He added, “There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics. I’d work with Lizzie for another 100 years if we could. Anything’s possible in the multiverse! We’ll have to see.”

As for Olsen, she’s not sure if Scarlet Witch will return or not. She teased, “I don’t think any of these characters are ever really gone.” And in the case of Wanda Maximoff, Olsen would love to the character move “toward some sort of redemption.”

That being said, the actress confirms that “nothing has been agreed upon” and there are no concrete plans for Scarlet Witch to return. But if you’re a fan of the character and hoping to see more of Wanda, there are plenty of ways for that to happen. As Feige said, “We’ll have to see.”
