Got a Tip?

Leonardo DiCaprio Says He’s Planning To Take “A Long, Long Break” From Acting

Leonardo DiCaprioWhile he might not be churning them out like Jessica Chastain or Matthew McConaughey, every time Leonardo DiCaprio takes on a new project, it's undeniably an event. 2010 saw him star in both Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" and Christopher Nolan's "Inception," the following year he led Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar," and within six months of each other Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" and Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" (which were initially slated to be released on the same day). Of course, he also recently wrapped his next re-teaming with Scorsese on "The Wolf Of Wall Street." And now it looks like the actor wants to take a breather.

Overseas talking to German press outlet Bild, the actor revealed that he's stepping away from film sets for a little bit. "I am a bit drained. I'm now going to take a long, long break. I've done three films in two years and I'm just worn out," he said. So what he is going to do with his time? Well, he's not going to be sitting at home catching up on the last season of "Breaking Bad."

"I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment," he said. While this may be surprising to come, DiCaprio has long been an environmental activist, and it's not just saying slogans and attending fundraisers. "My roof is covered with solar panels. My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than 50 kilometres (31 miles) a day. That can be done with a plug," he said.

Well, we can hardly blame the guy for wanting to recharge, and if he's going to do some good work while he's at it, more power to him. This may mean projects he's been linked to in the past year like "Live By Night," "Devil In The White City" and Alejandro González Iñárritu's "The Revenant" may go on the backburner, the DiCaprio is at the level where good projects will wait and/or he'll have his pick of the crop when he's ready to get back in the game. And with two more movies on the way in 'Gatsby' and 'Wolf,' and 'Django' in theaters now, there will be more than enough DiCaprio to tide us over. [Buzzfeed via JoBlo]
