Michael Fassbender Confirms He'll Be The 2 Androids You're Looking For In 'Alien: Covenant,' Reveals Name Of New Alien

It’s not always easy to keep the secrets of blockbuster movies under lock and key, but so far, the team behind “Alien: Covenant” has done a pretty good job. However, Michael Fassbender has let slip a couple of details that shine a bit more light on what to expect in the “Prometheus” sequel, including much more of the actor than you thought.

Last fall, word leaked out that Fassbender would be playing dual roles in the picture, but it wasn’t quite clear what that meant. But he’s now clarified that his android David will have a synthetic friend.

“I am allowed to say I am playing two robots — Walter and David,” he told The Irish Times (via io9). “I think what’s great about it is that Ridley has gone back to the original DNA of ‘Alien,’ the horror element of that. But is also has the scope and the scale of ‘Prometheus.’ Ridley has cut it already. He is a machine. He is an incredible human being and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure.”

Meanwhile, in another conversation with BBC Radio 2, Fassbender revealed that the new aliens in “Alien: Covenant” are known as “neomorphs.” And AVP Galaxy shared more details about the creatures, but you might want to head over there because it heads into some slightly spoiler territory.

There’s still a while to wait for “Alien: Covenant” as it doesn’t open until August 4, 2017 but perhaps we’ll see the first trailer in front of “Assassin’s Creed“?
