‘Mister’: Walton Goggins Replaces Josh Brolin In Chloë Grace Moretz Action Comedy From Thunder Road

There has been a bit of a casting shake-up concerning the new Thunder Road (behind the “John Wick” franchise) action comedy “Mister” starring Chloë Grace Moretz, as Josh Brolin (“Weapons”) has exited the project and has already been replaced with another actor.

Deadline has revealed in their report that Walton Goggins, who has been hot-as-a-pistol after “The White Lotus” and “Fallout,” as the versatile actor has stepped into the role originally meant for Brolin (exiting over “scheduling issues”) as a father dealing with a slew of contract killers on his trail, and teams up with his estranged daughter.

A logline mentioned in the reporting:

“Follows a man (Goggins) who wakes up in a strange house covered in blood and comes to realize his true identity while fighting off contract killers from his past, including everyone from his exes to his best friend. To get out, he teams up with his estranged daughter (Moretz), who also has ended up in the family business, but they will need to repair their relationship in order to survive.”

Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee will produce alongside Goggins, Nicki Cortese (co-wrote the script with Nick Inglis), and Wayne Marc Godfrey for Bright White Light (also financing). The executive producer team includes Chase Vergari, Ibrahim Mohammed, Eric Handler, Will Flynn, and Sophie Meyer (for Bright White Light). International rights are at Black Bear (“Shelter”), with CAA Media Finance handling the domestic side of things.
