New Red Band Trailer For Jamie Foxx's 'Sleepless' Reminds You It Exists, Opens Friday

Not screening for critics, and hardly conjuring any buzz, “Sleepless” is rolling into the upcoming long weekend hoping that Jamie Foxx‘s celebrity and the promise of a no-frills action movie will be enough to sell tickets. We’ll see, but making sure they get at least one more promotional shot before tomorrow, Open Road has dropped a brief new red band trailer for the movie.

While it might look like a riff on “Taken,” “Sleepless” is actually a remake of the French cult hit “Sleepless Night,” with the story following an undercover cop who has a single night to set right a whole bunch of stuff that has gone very wrong. Here’s the official synopsis:

SLEEPLESS stars Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained, White House Down) as undercover Las Vegas police officer Vincent Downs, who is caught in a high stakes web of corrupt cops and the mob-controlled casino underground. When a heist goes wrong, a crew of homicidal gangsters kidnaps Downs’ teenage son. In one sleepless night he will have to rescue his son, evade an internal affairs investigation and bring the kidnappers to justice.

The film co-stars Michelle Monaghan, Dermot Mulroney, Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, Tip ‘T.I.’ Harris, Scoot McNairy, and Octavius J. Johnson — will you be seeing it?
