'Party Down': STARZ Brings Back The Original Cast & Creators For A New Season Of The Comedy Series

Typically, when we discuss TV show revivals, such as the most recent “Dexter” return, the show is something that has a devoted fanbase and ran for at least four or five seasons. Well, then you look at “Party Down,” which is getting a revival, more than a decade after its final episode, and it only has two seasons (20 episodes total). Apparently, there is quite the devoted fanbase, huh?

According to STARZ, the folks behind “Party Down” have all agreed to come back for another season of TV for the comedy series. With its final episode airing in 2010, it’s been a number of years since TV fans saw their favorite caterers get into hilarious hijinks, but they won’t have to wait much longer. And the entire main cast of the first two seasons is coming back, including Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, and Megan Mullally

As mentioned, “Party Down” is a comedy series that follows the exploits of a group of caterers all hoping to fulfill their Hollywood dream. Each episode is a new event they work at, where they find themselves surrounded by a colorful, often crazy group of guests. The series’ creators, John Enbom, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd, are all returning to executive produce, with Enborn tackling showrunning duties.

“After more than 10 years, we’re excited to have the cast, many of whom are now hugely popular award-winning stars, return to don their pink bowties and head back to the party,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO at STARZ. “The fan demand for a ‘Party Down’ revival is clear and we look forward to what Rob, Paul, John, Dan and now Adam will do as they bring this special project and these hilarious characters back to life.”

It’s unclear when production will begin on the new season of “Party Down,” but fans have already waited a decade, so they’re probably content with waiting a bit longer.
