Quentin Tarantino Saddles Up To Bring ‘The Hateful Eight’ To Comic-Con

The Hateful EightMarvel, Sony, and Paramount have decided not to go to San Diego Comic-Con this year, but that doesn’t mean there still won’t be plenty of big attractions. Warner Bros. will be going hard with their DC films, and now a fanboy favorite is bringing one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Variety reports that Quentin Tarantino will ride into SDCC with "The Hateful Eight." On Saturday, July 11th at 1:30 PM, the director will head up a panel moderated by Chris Hardwick of Nerdist, and here’s the important part: there will be exclusive footage from the movie. So, presumably, that means it’ll be different than what was shown to press at Cannes (which you can read about here).

Now, for those of you who might jump to wondering if there will be a secret screening of the movie, don’t bet on it. Tarantino is probably still in the midst of cutting and post-production work, and while he works fast, he doesn’t work that fast. And given all the hoopla around the 70mm presentation and roadshow, the first showing of the movie will probably be an event in and of itself.

"The Hateful Eight" opens on Christmas Day.
