'Revolver': Ethan Hawke & Maya Hawke To Star In 'Finding Dory' Director's New Beatlemania Film

Maya Hawke is about to become a victim of Beatlemania. Well, not literally, but she will play a teen obsessed with the rock band in the upcoming film, “Revolver.”

According to Variety, Maya Hawke is set to star opposite her father, Ethan Hawke, in the new coming-of-age film, “Revolver,” directed by Andrew Stanton. As teased above, the film follows the story of a teen girl that lives in Anchorage, Alaska in 1966. She finds herself joining scores of Beatles fans that go crazy when a plane carrying the rock group is forced to land in their city.

Maya Hawke is probably best known for her role in Netflix’s mega-hit, “Stranger Things.” She also had a role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” as well as the recent series “The Good Lord Bird” and the upcoming film, “Mainstream.” Her father, Ethan, is a little known actor that hasn’t really done much over the course of his career. A sad story, actually. (Kidding.)

Ethan Hawke recently starred in the aforementioned “The Good Lord Bird,” as well as films such as “Tesla,” “The Truth,” and “Cut Throat City.” He’s also expected to star in “The Northman,” the upcoming, highly-anticipated feature from writer-director Robert Eggers.

“Revolver” is set to be directed by Stanton, an accomplished filmmaker that has primarily dealt in family films over his career. His biggest hits were with Pixar, helming features such as “Finding Nemo,” “WALL-E,” and “Finding Dory.” His most recent live-action film is the Disney space epic, “John Carter,” which is the subject of a ton of thinkpieces that you can peruse at your leisure.

It’s unclear when “Revolver” will arrive in theaters or streaming, but with those three attached, it’s definitely going to be a highly-anticipated film.
