Ridley Scott & Sigourney Weaver Give Rave Reviews Of The Recent High School Theater Production Of 'Alien'

Earlier this week, the North Bergen High School went viral when clips from its theater production of Ridley Scott’s classic “Alien” hit YouTube. The school performed the play over the weekend, and when film fans saw what the teens had put together, everyone was impressed. But it wasn’t just film fans that noticed and were impressed by the creativity and craftsmanship these teens possess.

In fact, people involved with the classic sci-fi/horror franchise, including its mastermind Ridley Scott, not only enjoyed the clips but decided to publicly thank the high school for honoring the film in such a great way.

“My hat comes off to all of you for your creativity, imagination and determination to produce such an ambitious show,” wrote Scott in a letter to the school (via Deadline). “Limitations often produce the best results because imagination and determination can surpass any shortfalls and determine the way forward — ALWAYS.”

He added, “Thanks for doing ‘Alien,’ I feel very complimented.”

The filmmaker then goes on to say that his production company, Scott Free, is going to pass along some “financial help” to go towards an encore performance of the play.

Sigourney Weaver also gives her compliments in a new video that was released on the official ‘Alien’ Twitter account. She says that she, along with James Cameron and screenwriter Walter Hill, think the production was great. That’s some ridiculously high praise, indeed.

The original ‘Alien’ celebrates it’s 40th anniversary this year, and rumors/speculation is all over the place, saying that Fox (now a Disney subsidiary) might be looking to rebooting the franchise in the future.
