‘Runaways’ Season 3 Trailer: Marvel’s Teen Heroes Might Have A Traitor In Their Midst

While we’re not sure what the future of live-action Marvel TV holds (will it be relegated to animation only?), there are still several superhero TV series coming from the studio over the months to come, including December’s “Runaways.”

As seen in the new trailer for Season 3 of Hulu’s “Runaways,” the Marvel series picks up right where Season 2 left off. After seemingly defeating their enemies, the teen superheroes are now realizing that the aliens are now possessing their on-again/off-again evil parents. Oh, and the worst of the aliens might actually be living inside one of the Runaways themselves. Dun, dun, dunnnnnnnnn. Will the Runaways discover who might be the traitor in time? (The trailer does sort of present the most likely candidate, or perhaps the season’s biggest red herring.)

While we don’t know much about the forthcoming season, we do know, as the trailer showcases at the very end, that this batch of episodes includes a crossover with the Freeform series “Cloak & Dagger.” While neither “Runaways” nor “Cloak & Dagger” carry the massive fanbase that the MCU films do, these two series have become modest hits for their platforms, and their mutual focus on teen heroes means the crossover will likely be pretty organic.

“Runaways” Season 3 debuts on Hulu on December 13.

Here’s the synopsis:

The heroes have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.
