'Somebody Somewhere' Trailer: Bridget Everett Offers a Different Look At Self Discovery

There are plenty of shows out there about young people finding their purpose, but what about the rest of the world? That’s where “Somebody Somewhere” comes in. The upcoming HBO series takes a look at finding yourself and your purpose a little later in life, and why there’s nothing wrong with that. The first trailer finally gives people a taste of the emotional moments and lighthearted jokes to expect from the show.

“Somebody Somewhere” stars Bridget Everett (“At Home with Amy Sedaris“), MikeHagerty (“So I Married an Axe Murderer“), JeffHiller (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt“), Danny McCarthy (“The Ballad of Buster Scruggs“), and MaryCatherineGarrison (“Begin Again“). The seven-episode series follows a Kansan, Sam (Bridget Everett), who struggles to fit into the hometown mold but finds singing to be her saving grace, the outlet of expression leading her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who also don’t fit in. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible.
