John Boyega, Daisy Ridley & Oscar Isaac Are Likely Done With ‘Star Wars’: “You Ain’t Going To Disney+ Me!”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is being billed as the conclusion to the long-running Skywalker Saga that began in 1977 with ‘A New Hope.’ Because of the film’s finality, it’s just assumed that this is the last time we’ll see many of these characters that have populated the most recent films. And according to some of the cast, that’s almost certainly the case.

Speaking to Variety, actors John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Daisy Ridley, the three major new cast members that joined “Star Wars” in 2015’s ‘The Force Awakens,’ all said that ‘Rise’ is most likely the end of their adventures in a galaxy far, far away. And for Boyega, in particular, he just doesn’t want to end up on one of the numerous TV series being released on Disney+.

“You ain’t going to Disney+ me!” the actor said. “I ain’t getting no Disney+! I’m watching it, though, but I’ll stay in the feature films.”

He did say that if Ridley and Isaac are willing to come back, then “I’ll come back.” But those two actors are more certain about their fate than Boyega.

“[I’m] happy and feeling fulfilled that the task is complete,” Isaac said. “So I can’t imagine what it would be that would make me want to redo this thing or revisit it.”

Ridley added, “I just don’t know if anything could top this one, honestly. I think it’s just a great story and a great close, and even though obviously the characters continue to exist, it would have to be so extraordinary [to return], and I don’t know if that’s possible.”

So, if you’re a fan of the three new cast members that have led the new trilogy of films, it appears that no matter what happens in the plot of ‘Rise of Skywalker,’ it would appear that this is the end of the road for Rey, Finn, and Poe.

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” arrives on December 20.
