As for the films themselves, we got confirmation that Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is set to direct a new “Star Wars” film. However, the big news is that Daisy Ridley, who was last seen as Rey in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” is returning for a story that takes place 15 years after that film. In addition to that news, we heard confirmation that Dave Filoni’s intermingling TV series (“The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett,” and the upcoming “Ahsoka”) are all building to a big event film, which we assume will continue a story that dates back all the way to “Star Wars Rebels.” And finally, there was news that James Mangold is working on a prequel film, “Dawn of the Jedi,” which will tell the story of the very first Jedi.
