'Stranger Things' Season 2: New Episode Titles Revealed Plus First Clip

In a few weeks, everything you know will tilt when “Stranger Things” season 2 returns to the Upside Down. Everything about what’s coming next has been kept under lock and key, however – right from the first tease for the second season, the Duffers have been toying with their fans a bit.

In the summer of 2016, an announcement video revealed the titles for the next batch of episodes, but six months later, Matt Duffer revealed the siblings were changing the names. Why? “…because these people are smart on the f—ing internet. You’ve seen it with ‘Westworld‘ — they figured it out! I’ve seen videos analyzing the chapter titles and they’re right on a lot,” he said. Here’s the original titles:

“Madmax”
“The Boy Who Came Back to Life”
“The Pumpkin Patch”
“The Palace”
“The Storm”
“The Pollywog”
“The Secret Cabin”
“The Brain”
“The Lost Brother”

Well, the new names have arrived, and they are a bit more enigmatic, with three of them withheld altogether:

Chapter 1: Mad Max
Chapter 2: Trick or Treat Freak
Chapter 3: The Pollywog
Chapter 4: Will the Wise
Chapter 5: Dig Dug
Chapter 6: The Spy
Chapter 7, 8, and 9: Super Duper Secret

Interestingly, “Madmax” and “The Pollywog” have stayed, and I’ll let super nerds try and decipher what the rest all means. Meanwhile, a new clip sees the boys trick or treating.

“Stranger Things” is back on October 27th.
