'Stranger Things' Season 4 Teaser: Series Won't Return Until 2022 & Producers Say They Have "The End In Sight"

Well, it’s official. After much debate, some early teasers of promise, and speculation, Netflix has announced that “Stranger Things” season four won’t be returning to Netflix until sometime in 2022. Covid-19 delays on production were a factor, and an intensive post-production VFX can’t help either.

In a Tweet from the “Stranger Things” account, Netflix and the series revealed the series would not come back until 2022 and released a little teaser below to go along with the announcement that fans had been waiting for.

Meanwhile, is “Stranger Things” ending with season five, as many have speculated? Asked by Collider if Stranger Things season five will be the last, Shawn Levy said, “I have the end in sight. The brothers have the end in sight. “There is a plan and that too will be shared not quite as soon as a sense of when season four is coming out, but soon enough. I can say this. No, one’s making it up as we go along and there is an endgame, if you will.”

“Stranger Things” boasts a massive ensemble on its main cast too large to list here, but rest assured, everyone’s favorite characters are back, including those played by Millie Bobbie Brown, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Natalie Dyer, Winona Ryder. This year, Brett Gelman joins the main cast roster, reprising his role as the conspiracy theorist Murray Bauman. Also joining him on the main cast are Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn.

Tom Wlaschiha, Nikola Đuričko, Joel Stoffer, and Sherman Augustus have new recurring roles this season.  Mason Dye, Tyner Rushing, and Joe Chrest do, too, as does Freddy Kreuger, Robert EnglundLevon Thurman-Hawke, the brother of Maya Hawke (Robin), also continues as part of the ensemble.
