The fifth and final season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” is already underway, but audiences will be able to stream Volume 2 of episodes this Christmas, leading to Netflix dropping a new trailer. It’s been a long road since the show premiered back in 2016. The last ten years saw the careers of multiple members of the horror series’ ensemble blossom. Joe Keery had a starring role on “Fargo” and big screen roles in “Molly’s Game” and “Free Guy.” As well as a successful, still ascending music career as Djo. Gaten Matarazzo went from Verizon commercials to starring in Broadway’s “Dear Evan Hansen” and playing the male romantic lead in “Honor Society.” And Millie Bobby Brown (probably the most successful of the bunch)has gone from Eleven to the new “Godzilla” franchise as well as “Enola Holmes.” It’s true for most of the crew that their stars continue to ascend. Seeing how far they’ve come, while also acknowledging an end to a chapter in their lives, co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer had this to say at a recent Netflix event:
“This is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It’s like eight blockbuster movies,” said Ross Duffer. “At the same time, we think it’s our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film—for us and for our actors,” said Matt Duffer.

The final season stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Linda Hamilton, and Amybeth McNulty. Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer are writer/director/executive producers.
The final season, set in the fall of 1987, will have the Hawkins gang facing off in an ultimate battle with Vecna and the Upside Down. Additionally, the show will continue to surprise its audience with character journeys and unexpected alliances.
Synopsis:
Taking place in 1980s Indiana, “Stranger Things” follows a group of friends as they witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. The final season will take place primarily in Hawkins. Much like Season 1, the series will explore the mythology of the Vecna, the Upside Down, and the Hawkins Lab.
“Stranger Things” Season 5 – Volume 2 is set to hit Netflix on Christmas Day, with the finale arriving on New Year’s Eve.
