'Havoc': Timothy Olyphant, Jessie Mei Li & More Join Tom Hardy In Gareth Evans' New Thriller

It’s always good news to know Gareth Evans is preparing to enter production soon on a new feature film. For fans of film (and action films, in particular), you can’t help but be excited for new Evans goodness, especially when the new feature is “Havoc,” which stars Tom Hardy and Forest Whitaker. Well, to get you even more hyped for the film, we now have a long list of folks that will also appear in the new thriller.

According to Variety, Gareth Evans is filling out his supporting cast with actors such as Timothy Olyphant, Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, Yeo Yann Yann, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Sunny Pang, and MMA star Michelle Waterson. While many of these names are likely going to be new to film fans, obviously Olyphant is the biggest star amongst them. He’s the star that is probably best known for his long-running role in “Justified,” as well as numerous other TV and film appearances, including “The Mandalorian.”

That said, also keep an eye out for Jessie Mei Li. Not only is she one of the stars of Edgar Wright’s upcoming “Last Night in Soho,” but she is also the lead in Netflix’s incredibly popular fantasy series, “Shadow and Bone.” She’s definitely a big up-and-coming actress that will have a real chance to shine under the tutelage of Evans.

Originally announced back in February, when it was revealed Evans signed an exclusive deal with Netflix, “Havoc” is a crime thriller that follows a detective that has to fight his way through the criminal underground during his search for a politician’s son. While on his perilous, violent journey, the detective also digs deeper into the corruption and conspiracies that have taken hold of the city.

“Havoc” marks the first film from writer-director Evans since 2018’s “The Apostle.” He’s best known for his acclaimed work on the action epic “The Raid” and its sequel. Most recently, he directed episodes of the AMC series, “Gangs of London.”
