'Toy Story 4' New Teaser: Key & Peele Bring The Laughs As Two New Additions To The Pixar Franchise

After yesterday’s teaser for “Toy Story 4,” Pixar fans’ emotions are probably on high alert. After the massive success of “Toy Story 3,” with the incredibly emotional ending, how can the studio come close to topping it with another film. Thankfully, Pixar has gone ahead and released a new teaser for the film, and it gives two reasons why you should be excited for the fourth film in the franchise.

Key and Peele.

That’s right, the comedy duo, best known for their Comedy Central series of the same name are the latest cast members to join “Toy Story 4,” playing Ducky and Bunny, respectively. And in the new teaser for the film, you see just what the hilarious guys bring to the universe, as they provide a meta-commentary on the ‘Toy Story’ franchise and dissect why Buzz Lightyear’s famous “To Infinity and Beyond!” catchphrase is non-sensical.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, who voice Ducky and Bunny, are two of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever seen,” said director Josh Cooley in a statement. “Of course, they are effortlessly funny, which would be enough. But they are incredible actors that understand story. Their improvs weren’t just for comedy sake, they were story motivated which elevated Ducky and Bunny and the film to a level I never could have expected.”

And no, this new teaser probably isn’t a sign that Disney and Pixar plan on releasing new footage every day for the next 8 months before the film hits theaters, but it’s a nice addition to yesterday’s clip.

“Toy Story 4,” featuring 100% more Key and Peele, is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 21, 2019.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy. Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”) and produced by Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”), Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019.
