After being seen in projects like the genre-bending body horror pic “The Substance,” Taylor Sheridan‘s oil-world drama series “Landman,” and taking a role in the upcoming Boots Riley film “I Love Boosters” arriving in May, actress Demi Moore landed a meaty part in the new thriller “Tyrant.”
This latest casting update from Variety reveals that Moore is joining Oscar-winner Charlize Theron (“Atomic Blonde”) and Julia Garner (“Weapons”) in the thriller set in the cutthroat elite culinary world of New York City.

“Tyrant” comes from writer/director David Weil, who previously created and worked on TV projects like Prime Video‘s “Hunters,” “Solos,” “Citadel,” and the sci-fi series “Invasion.”
Amazon MGM Studios is behind the pic and is coming off the massive success of “Project Hail Mary,” which has earned $513.2 million at the global box office after praise from both critics and audiences for the sci-fi film’s optimistic tone.
Other features on the horizon from the studio in the coming months include the cheeky farm animal whodunnit “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie,” the long-delayed “Masters of the Universe” remake, David Leitch‘s “How To Rob A Bank,” “Verity,” “4 Kids Walk Into A Bank,” “Madden,” and “The Man With The Bag,” the holiday flick that pairs Arnold Schwarzenegger with Alan Ritchson.
There is an expectation that Amazon MGM Studios, attending CinemaCon this week in Las Vegas, is expected to promote projects such as the aforementioned “Verity” starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, Michael B. Jordan-directed remake of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” and the Mel Brooks-produced sci-fi satire sequel “Spaceballs 2.”
