Most first-time filmmakers don’t have the luxury of A-list castmembers to help bring their vision to life. Most will hope to find less-experienced, but talented, actors to round out their cast and hope that the film, itself, catches the eye of studios and distributors. But in the cast of Edson Oda and his upcoming film, “Nine Days,” his debut is going to feature an impeccable line-up of talent in front of the camera.
Winston Duke, Zazie Beetz, Bill Skarsgård, Benedict Wong, and David Rysdahl have all signed on to star in the new film titled “Nine Days,” from first-time feature filmmaker Oda. “Nine Days” tells the metaphysical story of a man who interviews various people (who are personifications of human souls) for the privilege of being born. The plot sounds trippy and unique, and with the incredible cast assembled, “Nine Days” is shaping up to be a film to keep your eye on.
“I’m thrilled to be working with such an incredible cast and amazing team. So grateful for all the support I have received. ‘Nine Days’ is a very personal story to me, and I can’t imagine a better team to help me tell it,” said Oda.

Duke is probably best known for his recent films “Us,” where he played a protective father trying to save his family from evil doppelgangers, and “Black Panther,” as the heroic warrior M’Baku. Next year, he’ll be seen in the Netflix film “Wonderland,” where he stars opposite Mark Wahlberg.
Beetz is also a rising star, with a breakout role on the hit series “Atlanta,” as well as a slew of recent films. She appeared in “Deadpool 2,” where she played the hero Domino. After that, film fans probably recognized her in the Steven Soderbergh film “High Flying Bird.” And later this year, she co-stars with Joaquin Phoenix in the Warner Bros./DC film “Joker.”
Do we even need to mention where you’ve seen Skarsgård before? He’s definitely best known for his role as the evil Pennywise in the two recent “It” films, and has shown up in various other film and TV projects. Wong, as with Beetz and Duke, has flirted with superhero films in the past, showing up in “Doctor Strange” and the recent “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.” Rysdahl, not to be forgotten, is probably best known for his role in Cathy Yan’s breakout film “Dead Pigs.”
No release date has been set for “Nine Days,” but as we mentioned, it’s a film that you’re definitely going to want to keep an eye on.
