'Wonder Man': Demetrius Grosse To Star As The Villain Grim Reaper In Marvel Studios' Upcoming Series

While there has been a swirl of reports lately that Marvel Studios is going to slow down the number of TV series released on Disney+ in a year, that doesn’t mean the studio is canceling any series it already has in active development, including the highly anticipated series, “Wonder Man.” Not only are they moving toward production, but it seems as if the “Wonder Man” series has found yet another actor to add to the cast.

According to TVLine (who have seemingly confirmed a scoop from DanielRPK), Demetrius Grosse (“Fear the Walking Dead“) has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel Studios series, “Wonder Man.” The actor is expected to play Eric Williams, the brother of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. Unlike his superhero brother, Eric goes into a life of crime, gaining a weapon that is used to put people in a coma. He then adopts the moniker Grim Reaper.

“Wonder Man” is slated to star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the title character. Wonder Man, the comic book lore, has a bit of a complicated history. However, it’s expected that Simon Williams’ (Abdul-Mateen II) history will be streamlined a bit and will focus on his work as the son of an industrialist and an aspiring hero and stuntman in Hollywood. The series ‘Shang-Chi’ filmmaker Destin Daniel-Cretton is expected to produce and direct several episodes.

With casting underway, it’s clear that “Wonder Man” is gearing up to begin production sooner than later. It joins a long, long list of Marvel Studios TV series in development that are slated to hit the Disney+ streaming service over the next few years. It would appear that Marvel Studios has its TV output planned out for at least the end of 2024. So that would make “Wonder Man” as showing up closer to 2025. We’ll just have to wait and see.
