Andy Serkis' Character In 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Revealed

Dawn Of The Planet Of The ApesSo with a couple trailers released, a big Star Wars Celebration event behind them, and a batch of new images floating around, Disney seems to have gone back into hibernation as they get ready to birth "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" later this year. So it means fans will take whatever morsel of info they can get and today a little crumb has arrived.

The official Star Wars site has revealed that Andy Serkis will be playing Supreme Leader Snoke in the movie, and we’ll leave it to everyone else to try and decipher what that means. The site also has a shot of the actor in his mo-cap which we won’t reproduce here for fear of incurring the wrath of photographer Annie Leibovitz‘s lawyers, but it is interesting because for a while, it was assumed he had a regular acting role in the film. Maybe both? Maybe his character does require special effects that for reasons that can’t be disclosed yet? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
