Lionsgate has released a new promo for the “Hunger Games” franchise, recapping the previous five films before ending with a brief look at “The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping.” The footage offers fresh glimpses of Joseph Zada as young Haymitch Abernathy, along with Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Maya Hawke as Wiress, and Ralph Fiennes as a younger President Snow.
The prequel is set 24 years before the original films and centers on the 50th Hunger Games, the Second Quarter Quell, with Haymitch at its center. The cast also includes Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee, and Lili Taylor as Mags.
Francis Lawrence returns to direct after helming the franchise’s previous four mainline entries and “The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes,” while Billy Ray is back on screenplay duties after writing the 2012 original. Lionsgate will release “Sunrise On The Reaping” in theaters on November 20, 2026.
