Sixteen years after “Why Did I Get Married Too?,” Tyler Perry is getting the old couples back together, with a few new complications waiting for them. Netflix has released the first teaser for “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?,” the third film in Perry’s marriage-and-friendship ensemble franchise.

Perry writes, directs, produces, and stars in the new film, which reunites several returning cast members from the earlier movies, including Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker, and Sharon Leal. This time, Taraji P. Henson joins the ensemble, alongside Armani Greer, Everett Osborne, Da’Vinchi, Laya Deleon Hayes, Jaden Michael, Charles L. Smith II, Derrick A. King, and Sydney Winbush.
The new film brings the couples back together for a wedding as Marcus and Angela’s daughter prepares to marry. After time apart, the group quickly discovers that even after years have passed, old patterns have a way of resurfacing. As their children begin to mirror their own choices, the couples are forced to look back at the examples they set and ask the franchise’s familiar question all over again.
“Why Did I Get Married?” and “Why Did I Get Married Too?” are also now available to stream on Netflix, giving viewers a chance to catch up before the new installment arrives.
