The Tracking Board reveals that Elle Fanning and Timothee Chalamet have been offered two of the three lead roles in Allen’s next movie. As you know, the director always keeps the title and plot of his movies under wraps until they are in the can, so there’s no word yet on what this one is all about. However, he rarely makes films with leads as young as this pair (19 and 21, respectively) so that’s interesting to note. Both actors are gaining heat around Hollywood, with Fanning certainly established with a number of auteur credits under her belt, while Chalamet likely to jump onto the radar in a big way once the Sundance buzz pic “Call Me By Your Name” opens later this year.

No word yet on when the new Allen film will shoot, but it’s probably a safe bet that cameras will roll before 2017 is over.
