Felicity Jones Lands Female Lead In Warren Beatty's Howard Hughes Project

Justin Timberlake & Alden Ehrenreich Among Contenders For Male Lead; Owen Wilson Also In The Mix For A Part

Felicity JonesThough she's not being mentioned quite as breathlessly as Elizabeth Olsen or Rooney Mara this fall, Felicity Jones should be. The rising British actress gave one of the year's best performances in the tender and softly bruising trans-Atlantic love story "Like Crazy" and it looks like she's caught the attention of one of Hollywood's most legendary figures.

As you might remember, Warren Beatty is making a long-awaited return to work, as the director, star and producer of a currently untitled dramedy about Howard Hughes. Details about the film remain, for the most part, under wraps but it involves an affair [Hughes] had with a young woman in the later years of his life, and it looks like that's where Jones will fit in. Deadline reports she'll play a woman who first gets involved with Hughes' driver and confidante, before falling for the man himself. But that's not all. Apparently, Justin Timberlake and Alden Ehrenreich are some of the guys being tossed around for the young male lead, with Owen Wilson being added to the list of names — that also include the previously reported Jack Nicholson, Alec Baldwin and Annette Bening — in the mix for other roles in the movie.

In the works for over 25 years, the movie has also been said to cover two time periods in the magnate's life and there are still lots more details to be uncovered. Production on the New Regency backed film will take place sometime in 2012.
