Watch: Anne Hathaway Finds Romance In Brooklyn In Trailer For 'Song One'

Song One,The bonafides behind "Song One" are certainly strong. Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway is in the lead role, musician Johnny Flynn co-stars, and the soundtrack is graced with new tunes by Jenny Lewis and Jonathan Rice. After a Sundance Film Festival premiere earlier this year (read our review here), the movie is now headed to theaters, and the first trailer has arrived.

"Apart from singing traditional songs and learning Bob Dylan songs or whatever, I don’t usually sing other people’s music," Flynn admitted in a recent EW interview. "But it was cool because the songs were an extension of the script, as far as the clues to who the character is. I had occasional suggestions, and they were very cool about humoring me with my ideas. We got to actually make the record that is referenced in the movie. We were going into a studio on the weekends, and from what I understand, the record is going to be released soon somehow."

Look for that soundtrack to arrive next year alongside the movie. Written and directed by Kate Barker-Froyland, the Brooklyn-set film follows Franny (Hathaway), who returns home after her musician brother Henry (Ben Rosenfield from "Boardwalk Empire") falls into a coma following an accident. Seeking out the musicians Henry loved, Franny meets James, her brother’s idol, and soon romance strikes a chord between the pair. What happens next? You’ll just have to watch below.

"Song One" hits theaters and On Demand on January 23, 2015. Here’s the trailer, along with Flynn singing "The Water" with Laura Marling to give you a taste of his chops.
