Got a Tip?

New Featurettes Go Behind The Scenes Of ‘Les Miserables’ & ‘Skyfall’

nullYou might think that with the Venice/Telluride/TIFF trifecta finished with, the year in movies is pretty much done. But with three months and change to go, there are still some very big and exciting movies to come, bringing lots of spectacle with them.

First up is Tom Hooper's hella ambitious "Les Misérables." So what's the big deal about taking a well-known stage musical and getting a big budget and a bunch of stars to feature in it like Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe? Well, in this is fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the movie, Eddie Redmayne sums it up really well. Essentially, all the singing is done live on set, a departure from the traditional method in which the cast records in a studio and then lip syncs to playback once the cameras roll. And this generous look behind the scenes is really exciting stuff, particularly as it shows how the cast can act and emote through the songs, rather than the disconnect of acting and then breaking to sing. Even this writer, who was sort of whatever on this movie, is firmly excited after seeing this.

Meanwhile, Bond is back and another "Skyfall" videoblog has dropped, this time taking a peek at the women — Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe. It's pretty standard EPK stuff, though you might want to see if you can contain your laughter when former model Marlohe claims that Bond girls don't look like models. Yeah. Right.

"Les Misérables" opens on Christmas Day, while "Skyfall" blows out the candles on Bond's 50th on November 9th. Watch below.
