'Fahrenheit 451' Trailer: Michael B. Jordan And Michael Shannon Collide In Fiery New Film

The HBO original film, “Fahrenheit 451,” has been one of our most anticipated projects of the year. The film is directed by Ramin Bahrani, who is known for his film “99 Homes,” and stars Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon. And in the trailer for this Ray Bradbury adaptation, you can see exactly why this film is going to be something special.

The trailer lays out the plot pretty well in its 2+ minute run-time. In the future, “firemen” burn books and turn children’s attention towards the media. Montag, a young fireman, gets pulled into the middle of a struggle between those that want to burn and those who don’t, as he fights to regain his humanity.

Michael B. Jordan is coming off the massive success of “Black Panther,” where he stole the show from the rest of the cast, and quickly became one of the most talked about stars in Hollywood. Having him act opposite Michael Shannon, who is incredibly intense in just about every role and clearly channels a new level of intensity here, is sure to create fireworks.

Bahrani directed “Fahrenheit 451,” while also serving as co-writer alongside his “99 Homes” collaborator Amir Naderi.

“Fahrenheit 451” is scheduled to hit HBO May 19.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Fahrenheit 451 is based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel. In a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books, Jordan plays Guy Montag, a young fireman who struggles with his role as law enforcer and with his “mentor”, played by Shannon.
