Paul Rudd is one of the most likable actors working today. Jenna Ortega, on the other hand, is one of the most popular, thanks to her role in Netflix’s “Wednesday.” A24 is hoping that bringing them together for an upcoming dark comedy, “Death of a Unicorne,” could be a massive hit.

According to A24, the studio has wrapped production on a new film, “Death of a Unicorne,” and is finally ready to reveal the project’s massive ensemble cast. As mentioned, the film stars Rudd and Ortega, but they’re not the only big names attached. Joining the duo in the cast are Richard E. Grant (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?”), Téa Leoni (“Flirting with Disaster”), Will Poulter (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”), Anthony Carrigan (“Barry”), Sunita Mani (“Glow”), Jessica Hynes (“Paddington 2”), and Stephen Park (“Asteroid City”).
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
A father (Rudd) and daughter (Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.
“Death of a Unicorne” is the feature film debut of writer-director, Alex Scharfman. And it’s not only the cast that has a lot of big names. One of the executive producers is none other than Ari Aster. Working on the music are John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies. Finally, you have Zack Snyder’s favorite cinematographer, Larry Fong, on board behind the camera. Needless to say, this is shaping up to be a pretty exciting title.
As mentioned, production wrapped already, but it’s unclear when we might see “Death of a Unicorne” finally hit cinemas.
