Galerie is new online film club launched by Indian Paintbrush. What sets Galerie apart from streaming services alluded to above is that this is a destination to find curated lists of collections crated by esteemed filmmakers and industry folk. Not only will you find recommended films, but you’ll also discover thoughtful essays and exclusive live events with today’s most esteemed cinema professionals and cultural minds. And we’re thrilled to give our reader’s an exclusive heads up about two of the people who are lending their time to Galerie.
For January, you have none other than filmmaker James Gray, who is providing his own curated list of films that he wants everyone to watch, as well as discussions about some of those choices. Gray, of course, is the acclaimed filmmaker behind works such as “We Own the Night,” “The Immigrant,” “Lost City of Z,” “Ad Astra,” and most recently, “Armageddon Time.”
And in February, filmmaker Reinaldo Marcus Green steps into the role of curator, delivering more content for film lovers to devour. Green is known for films such as “Monsters and Men” and “King Richard.” His next film is the forthcoming music biopic “Bob Marley: One Love.”
Needless to say, if you’re a film fan and you’re sick of endless scrolling on streaming services filled with lots of, uh, not-so-great content, then Galerie should be something you’re check out.
You can join the service at Galerie.com. And if you want a peek at what you might find on the service, you can see a couple of clips below:
