It’s been nearly three years since the release of “Squid Game” Season 1. But that hasn’t lessened the excitement for Season 2, which is finally getting released this Christmas.
And while the new teaser for “Squid Game” Season 2 doesn’t feature any footage from the series, it does a good job of teasing the return of Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun. Fresh off his role in “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” Lee is now returning to the role that made him an instant global star. But as seen in the teaser, he’s not the only one returning to play in the games.
For those who didn’t see Season 1, “Squid Game” tells the story of a large group of people who are offered a shot at millions of dollars if they’re the last remaining player at the end of a series of games. The games are viewed by rich and powerful people who joyfully watch as players die for a chance to win the money.
“Squid Game” Season 2 is, once again, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. The series is expected to drop on Netflix on December 26. You can watch the new teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.
