According to a recent interview with THR, Roland Emmerich’s next project is a planned three-season TV series inspired by “Lawrence of Arabia.” The interview claims this is a passion project for the filmmaker, and he is about to shop it around to studios very soon. However, the series is actually going to be titled “Lawrence in Arabia.”

Why “in” Arabia and not “of?” Well, Emmerich said his TV series has a title change “because it has a little bit more characters.” So, yeah, there you go.

For those not familiar with the original, “Lawrence of Arabia” is a 1962 film starring Peter O’Toole and based on the life of T. E. Lawrence and his encounters in the Ottoman Empire during the first World War. The film was nominated for 10 Oscars, winning seven of them, including Best Picture.
