Who’s next to join the “Scream 7” cast sheet? Deadline reports it’s Mckenna Grace, who joins Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, and Asa Germann as newcomers to the latest installment in the horror franchise.  Neve Campbell is also back for “Scream 7” as heroine Sidney Prescott after sitting out of the previous sequel from 2023, with Courteney Cox also reprising her role as newswoman Gale Weathers.
But it’s a clean slate for the “Scream” franchise this time around, as the late 2023 firing of Melissa Barrera forced Spyglass Entertainment to jettison the new generation ensemble that led the past two films in the series. Jenna Ortega won’t be back either, and from the recent castings, it’s not likely Jasmine Savoy Brown and Mason Goodwing will return either. But never say never, as “Scream 7” won’t hit theaters until February 27, 2026, over a year away from now; more casting news could happen before this pic starts shooting.
“Scream” creator Kevin Williamson returns to the franchise he built to direct “Scream 7,” with Guy Busick providing the film’s script. James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein produce via Project X Entertainment, as they did for the previous two films. As a franchise, “Scream” is coming off its highest-grossing movie ever, with “Scream VI” raking in over $108 million domestically last March. And with a franchise gross of $900 million+, “Scream 7” will surely put the franchise over the $1 billion dollar mark worldwide after it hits theaters.
Grace’s recent output includes “Ghostbusters: After Life,” “Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire,” and “Gifted.” Up next for the actress? An adaptation of Colleen Hoover‘s “Regretting You,” which co-stars Allison Williams.
As noted earlier, “Scream 7” arrives in theaters on February 27, 2026. Stay tuned for more casting news soon.
