‘Scream 7’: Isabel May Set To Play Sidney Prescott’s Daughter In Upcoming Slasher Sequel

What’s the latest scoop on “Scream 7“? Well, the latest casting news hints at what fans of the slasher sequels should expect from the 2026 sequel. Deadline reports that “1883” and “1923” actress Isabel May joins the cast as the daughter of Neve Campbell‘s Sidney Prescott. Fans already knew Campbell was returning after sitting out for “Scream VI,” but Sidney having a daughter is a first in the series (and quite the pivot for the series on a whole).

Still, teens are teens, and in the “Scream” universe, that means Ghostface will inevitably be stalking and terrorizing May and her friends in the next film.  Courtney Cox also returns for “Scream VII,” the only original cast member who’s been in the entire series so far. The franchise is amid a hard reset after the new era ensemble of the past two films fell apart late last year.  Melissa Barrera was fired last November after Paramount execs didn’t approve of her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict.  Jenna Ortega exited the sequel shortly afterward, citing scheduling conflicts with “Wednesday” Season 2. It’s still unclear if Jasmine Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding will return to reprise their roles from “Scream V” and “VI.”

In that case, it’s safe to look at May as the potential new scream queen of the franchise.  Outside of her work on the Taylor Sheridan‘s “Yellowstone” prequels, May also stars in Takahi Doscher‘s action thriller “Karoshi” with Teo Yoo. Other upcoming projects for the actress include the horror movie “Menace,” the romantic dramedy “Falling,” and the rom-com “Love Language.”  And further down is the revenge thriller “Wild World,” which was only just announced.

Paramount and Spyglass Media team up again for “Scream 7,” as they did for the past two sequels. And after the debacle of Barrera’s and Ortega’s exits, Kevin Williamson returns to the franchise he built to direct, with “V” and “VI” scribe Guy Busick also returning. Producers on the film include Project X Entertainment‘s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein.

As noted earlier, “Scream 7” won’t hit theaters for a while, with a current release date of February 27, 2026. So expect more casting news for May’s teen cohorts as the sequel approaches production.
